Just the other day, I read an email posted on a blog about a certain food chain in Manila named The Sandwich Guy. A copy of that said email can be found HERE.
Before I was able to read this email, I already notice how popular the topic is on twitter, plurk and facebook. So today, I am not shocked to find out that The Sandwich Guy already issued their official statement. Here is a copy below:
The Sandwich Guy abides by the high standards of the food industry in sanitation and food handling. All its branches have an open kitchen and are designed primarily for customers to view the preparation of their sandwiches from start to finish. All its crew inside the kitchen wear aprons and hairnets. When the crew handles food, they wear food grade gloves. All the crew has passed the training for the sanitation and food handling as upheld in the food industry and approved by the franchisor.
The ingredients of the country tuna sandwich include cucumbers, tomatoes and lettuce which are vegetables with high water content. If these vegetables come in contact with freshly grilled warm wheat bread, it will give off some of its water content. Mr. Leovic P. Pablo states in his email that it was a colorless liquid that he found on his sandwich, the same colorless liquid which a cut cucumber, tomato or lettuce will give off when exposed to a warm surface such as a freshly grilled wheat bread, which we already explained to him.
The major allegations of Mr. Leovic P. Pablo in his email blast against The Sandwich Guy are false. We have always been available to meet with him to try to address this issue in a professional way but after his email blast, we have no choice but to file legal charges against him.
To all our valued customers, we thank you for your continued patronage. We assure you that we are serving fresh and healthy food that you have been enjoying in the same high standards of sanitation and food handling upheld in the food industry. Thank you very much. SOURCE
I am not saying here who is saying the truth or not and since you have both sides of the story, you judge. There are more on this that meets the eye. So we never know.
In the next few days, we might be seeing legal cases filed against each other. And if that happens, I am sure they will hire the best to defend them just like an OKC lawyer.
Anyway, I just wish they will have a settlement before things get worst than this!

I think it is true that the crew put a phlegm on the poor IBMer, thinking that he is on his way to his home from a long night work. And of course to compensate his day, he needs to have a good breakfast sana pero binaboy ng taga Sandwhich Guy yung food nya. If you will analyze the incident, nasa taxi na sya ng kainin nya ang sandwhich, pero dahil meron syang natuklasan na hindi maganda, pinabalik nya ang taxi.. so this will proove na kung gagawa lang sya ng gimik at nagkamali lang sya sa nakita nya gaya ng sinasabi or claims ng statement na nirelease ng management ng taga TSG, mageefort pa ba yung IBMer na pabalikin ang taxi nya? e thinking na gagastos pa ulit sya? And of course you yourself can distingush kung ano ang lasa ng phlegm at ng water from the vegies.. it would have a very big difference. YAk! And syempre..ikaw ba naman na pagod ka na from a night duty e sana pauwi ka na ng maayos e mag-aabala ka pa ba na bumalik ulit kung gagawa ka lang ng gimik… Use your common sense… kahit sinong tao gagawin ang ginawa nung IBMer if he knew na offended ka and was really degraded. Anung naging kasalanan nya to experience that kind of treatment, where in fact hindi nya kilala yung mga crew sa TSG. And for the legal matters na isasampa daw ng TSG to the IBMer.. i think bobo yung lawyer nila kasi if you will notice, the letter was addressed to the HR Department of IBM. As an employee he has the right to tell his experience to the HR, personal experience nya yung kinuwento nya doon. Yung HR ang nagpost sa mga employees nila and make the fuzz about the internet blogs… another thing bakit nag ask ng forgiveness yung crew kung wala syang ginawa? Guilty kasi sya. And another thing, pano magkakaroon agad ng result ang DNA testing as TSG claimed, e it will take you months to have the result and of course it will be expensive para gastosan pa ng TSG yun, e sanitary permit nga lang wala pa sila.. Analyze every detail..
Eto pa.. I heard na ang manager ng TSG ang nagoffer dun sa IBMer na ipapakita sa kanya ang Video during the date and time ng alleged incident, dahil meron daw silang cameras sa loob, just to prove na walang ginawa ang crew nila, within 24 hours. As the manager phoned the owner, pinababalik yung IBMer to view the icident the day after it happened. Bumalik si IBMer on the date that they have set.. pero walang video na pinakita… And instead sinabi sa taga IBMer na sa january 14 bumalik dahil 1 week daw bago maretrieve ang video.. Bumalik ulit si IBMer on the said date, pero wala pa rin silang naipakitang video.. Now..What do you think sino ang nagsasabi ng totoo ngayon? Hindi ba malinaw na kung wala talagang ginawa yung crew sa sandwhch ni IBMer, e di mas madaling makiclear ni TSG ang name nya.. dahil sya ang may hawak ng proof during the recorded date and time ng incident. It would be easier for TSG to clear his name..than to sue the IBMer or the IBM. Bakit hindi nila mailabas yun….? Analyze it.. if you still want to munch the savor of their tuna sandwich…eeww
Well, based from what I’ve experienced from this store, they have an open bar where you can see the workers preparing your sandwich. But it is possible that the customer didn’t see the worker spit on his sandwich. Colorless liquid can also mean it is saliva. I don’t trust this store any longer, and remember the customer is always right. sandich guy can press charges against him but it will just backfire against them.
YIKES! Whether it’s true or not…YIKES pa din…
Napadpad ako here Mommy Ruby…galing din ako sa ibang mansyon mo…
