When I was in college, I took up engineering and worked my way to become a licensed engineer. But eventually, I did not work as an engineer. During that time when I was in college, many young people opted to take up nursing because it was in demand. Many parents wanted to send their children to the United States or in other foreign lands so that their kids can earn in dollars and their lives here will improve.
Sadly, however, not everyone is cut out to have a health care career. I know of many who dropped out on the second semester or shifted to another course because nursing is just not for them. There are those who stuck it out but never landed a job in nursing. I believe that in choosing one’s career, money should not only be the basis. There should also be joy and gratification. There is no satisfaction of being stuck in a nice paying job but that doesn’t make you happy or makes you sacrifice many things. I am happy with being a stay at home mom and professional blogger. I earn and get to be with my kids during important events because I have flexible time.
