Confusion or Wrong Conclusion?

Some people can be so narrow-minded. Excuse me but I just have to say that. Why, you may ask? Well, I was talking to an acquaintance, note the term I’m using. I shouldn’t even bother calling her a friend because she’s just someone I know and often do business with but we’re not really close. Anyway, I know that she’s selling insurance so I told her that when we finally buy a car, I would like for her to assist me in getting cheap car insurance.

No sooner have the words come out of my mouth and she started saying that I can ask someone else for help because she doesn’t want to sacrifice her reputation. It turned out she didn’t understand what I meant when I said cheap insurance. She didn’t realize that I was referring to affordable, yet quality, car insurance. Now I’m wondering, was it my fault? Did I use the wrong words or was it simply a case of reacting prematurely on the part of that person?
