Perhaps one reason why we have mixed feelings about buying a car is the fact that owning one would require setting aside a budget for maintenance. I have heard stories where a brand new car suddenly started showing problems several months after it was purchased. Of course I do imagine the whole family traveling in a vehicle we can call our own.

The picture is quite lovely. But then I start thinking, “What if we already have a car and we’re off somewhere and it suddenly breaks down?” A car breaking down in the middle of nowhere is, indeed, a very frightening thought.

So I guess if and when we finally have our own car, the first thing I’ll ask my husband to do is enroll in a roadside assistance club. As the name suggests, it’s a club that offers free assistance to its members who might need roadside help in case of a flat tire, busted breaks and the likes. All you need to do is call their number and they will send help or even a tow truck right away.
