A Traveler’s Buddy

Driving can be very stressful if you are not familiar with the place. It would almost be impossible to be looking at a map and drive at the same time. Aside from the fact that it is unsafe, maps could easily be outdated. For all you know, you are looking at an old map and they changed street names, etc. leaving you all confused.

This dilemma can easily be solved if you had a Global Positioning System or GPS. This device provides location and time information anywhere in the world. It is maintained by the United States government and is freely accessible by anyone with a GPS receiver. So by simply inputting the location of the place you are to go, the device will direct you where to make a turn, a U-turn or make a full stop. You will arrive to your destination safely without having to look at a complicated and unfamiliar map or stop every now and then to ask locals. Amazing, isn’t it? The GPS is definitely any driving traveler’s buddy.

Oh so true! I often have to drive to unfamiliar places, and I usually print out a map of my destination(s) and highlight the route I’ll take before I go. GPS makes traveling easier, but only if it’s updated. Sometimes, if it’s not updated, one can get lost too.
